Our Story
At the heart of Brandenburg, Kentucky, nestled within the charm of a 150-year-old home, lies the Brandenburg Boarding House—a labor of love brought to life by Jessica and Kirk Vila-Stevenson. This historic haven isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a reflection of our passion for people, hospitality, and the stories that make a house a home.

Jessica, a Louisville native with a vibrant spirit, brings a lifetime of creativity and connection to every guest experience. From her days as a ballroom and Latin dance instructor to singing in a band and hosting unforgettable gatherings, she’s always found joy in bringing people together. Her husband, Kirk, originally from Cuba, is the steady, adventurous soul behind the scenes. A dedicated family man and outdoorsman, Kirk’s journey from welder to leader is a testament to hard work, heart, and the American dream.

Together, we’ve called Doe Valley in Brandenburg home for over a decade. When the opportunity arose to restore this beautiful old house, we knew it was time to turn a long-held dream into reality. The Brandenburg Boarding House is our way of sharing the warmth, history, and hospitality we hold dear—with our community and with travelers from near and far.
